The best deejay in Buenos Aires is Daniel Borelli who works at Lo de Celia (Wed/Fri/Sat), Chique (Thurs), Club Ciudad (Sun) and El Arranque (Mon) as of this date. He gives thought to the arrangement of the tandas and plays only the best music for dancing. The Sunday DJ at Lo de Celia has a lot to learn about selection to keep the milongueros happy.

It's nice to know that young dancers like you are interested in hearing good music and know the difference when you hear it.

Good information for those who are shy about the cabeceo when in Buenos Aires milongas. The only correction is that a woman should never initiate it--that is still left to the man. That's the way it has been for decades in Buenos Aires. Women look at the men with whom they want to dance, but the man extends the invitation. I say this from observation and experience over the past nine years.

I love Malerba! He has this D'Arienzo-Caló-Laurenz mix that I just love. And he gets played in the UK, at least by me!

Interesting what you say about Malerba in your country. In my home town - Zurich in Switzerland - you can hear Malerba regularly in milongas that are dedicated to the epoca de oro. And people dance a lot to Malerba.

In my own weekly milonga I play a malerba tanda at least every second week. And beside Malerba with Medina I also play Malerba with Maida sometimes. There are four tangos, just enough for an outstandig tanda 1. Encuentro. 2. Una copa mas. 3. Medianoche. 4. Pasado Florido.

Not to forget the outstanding interpretation of the instrumental vals Corazon de Artista, that I consider superior zu d'Arienzos version and a pice of musik that lifts may dancers from their chairs.

Hi Royce, I cannot agree with you more about thinking and arranging tandas that provides for a variety of rhythms that flows well through an evening and understanding of the dancers' energy and reflecting that in the djing. Hope you and JM are well. Cherry-Anne
